A flashlight! To be more specific a “Tactical” flashlight. Anybody can carry one, purchase one and they are legal in all 50 states. I’m talking about what are termed “Handheld Tactical Lights”. Specifically the ones that are rated above 100 lumens. They are small enough to carry all the time, fit in your pocket or purse. You can use them with very little training and are effective as a tool to temporary blind an assailant by directing the beam of bright light into their eyes. The light can also be used as an impact device to strike the assailant to break a hold or grab to get away. The market is saturated with these small but handy devices. Do yourself a favor, buy one, carry it and practice using it. This little “flashlight” just might save your live one day.
