In general good communication is the key to get your information across to others the way you intend them to understand it. As a firearm instructor it is even more important to have good communication. Every specialty has its own terminology and acronyms. When your in these specific circles you understand what they mean, if your not your lost and confused. The instructor needs to be able to take these terms and translate them so that the new student can understand them. When teaching my courses I often stop and ask the class if they have questions or to tell me win their words what they think of a specific topic. After our live range fire sessions I always make time to hang out with the students, recap what was was covered and make sure they understand the material that was covered.
